A prospective student must apply in writing to be admitted to Nelson Mandela University.
Application forms can be obtained from the Access and Enrolment Office Office or be downloaded from the university’s website at
www.mandela.ac.za/admissions
In order to ensure adequate time for processing, placement testing and planning by Nelson Mandela University and yourself, applications for access and enrolment should be submitted by 1 August of each year.
Applications will be received after this date until mid-January, but at a higher application fee.
A limited number of programmes also have a second semester intake. The closing date for such applications is 30 May of each year. Late applications will be received after this date until mid-July, but at a higher application fee.
The closing date for applications by international students is 31 October of each year.
Places in some programmes are limited. It is therefore in your best interest to submit your application as soon as possible.
If you were previously registered at other tertiary educational institutions, you need to submit a full academic record and certificate of conduct issued by each institution at which you have been registered.
Hand in your fully completed application form, with certified copies of your ID document, final school leaving results, academic record and certificate of conduct (from a previous institution), marriage certificate (if applicable), certified copy of passport (if available), proof of permanent residency (international students) and medical disability certificate (if applicable).
